Performing without costume, makeup, wigs, or other costuming. Especially for buyō dance.
Kabuki dance:
Su-odori is often used for dance recitals where the usual stage production is omitted. The performer wears a formal kimono, but no makeup or wig. Often just the folded fan (sensu) is used as the only hand prop.
