Anmerkungen Character types: evil enemies. Ichikawa Sosaburo III was a student of Ichikawa Danjuro IV adn took the name Ichikawa Irizo. In 1763 he performed at the Nakamura Theater in Edo. The following year he changed his name to Ichikawa Shoemon and played enermy roles. In 1771 he changed his name to Ichikawa Junemon, and in 1780 he became Ichikawa Sozaburo III at the Ichimura Theater. He retired around 1800. He was well suited for sewamono, and he was active from 1763 to around 1800.
