Tomizawa Tatsujuro was a student of Tomizawa Chiyonosuke and took the name Tomizawa Tatsunosuke. In 1728 he moved to Kyoto and played young female roles in Nagoya in 1732. In 1738 he moved to Edo, and in 1740 he changed his name to Tomizawa Tatsusjuro. In 1769 he became a theater leader at the Morita Theater and in 1774 became a president at the Ichimura Theater. In 1777 he became sick and passed away. He excelled in playing arch-villains and old male roles. He was active from 1720 to 1777.
