| Notes | Character types: evil enemies (kataki yaku). Kasaya Matakuro II was a son of Kasaya Matakuro I. He first appeared on stage as Kasaya Matasaburo in Kyoto in 1755 but quit acting until he became Kasaya Matazo in 1761. After his father's death, he became Kasaya Matakuro II in 1770 and moved to Tokyo. Seven years later he moved back to Osaka. He was active from 1755 to 1777. |
