| Notes |
Based on the story "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King" by E.T.A. Hoffman. First performed in St. Petersburgh at the Maryinsky Theatre in 1892, the Nutcracker was introduced to the US during the San Francisco Ballet's first American full-length production of the ballet in 1944. Since then, it has become a Christmas tradition in the US. SFPALM |
