He has also been active as a master of Fujima school buyo, Fujima Kan'emon. He first appeared on stage (hatsu omemie) at Kokuritsu Theatre in January, 1980. He changed the name to Onoe Sakon II at the Kabuki Theatre in February of the following year. He took the name Onoe Tatsunosuke II at the Kabuki Theatre in May, 1991. Then he took the name Onoe Shōroku IV at the Kabuki Theatre in May, 2002.
