備考 [主な役柄:若女方、立役、敵役 花川作弥の門人となり、花川大吉と名乗り、京都で修行をする。花川市之丞と改名し、1735年若女方の色子として初舞台を踏む。1759年江戸に下り、1764年四代目市川団十郎の門人として市川伊達蔵と名乗る。立役、敵役を勤め、1771年花花車方として最後の舞台となる。時代物に適した。享保20年(1735年)から明和8年(1771年)に活躍する。]

Ichikawa Datezo I was a student of Hanakawa Sakuya and took the name Hanakawa Daikichi and trained in Kyoto. He changed his name to Hanakawa Ichinojo and first appeared on stage in a young female role (iroko) in Kyoto in 1745. In 1759 he went to Edo and then he changed his name to Ichikawa Datezo as a student of Ichikawa Danjuro IV. He palyed male roles and evil enemies and later played old female roles (kashagata). In 1771 he retired. He was well suited for jidaimono. He was active from 1735 to 1771.
