元文四年四月、大阪、竹本座で初演。
「ひらかな」は「源平盛衰記」をわかりやすくしたという意味。
「逆櫓」は歌舞伎で松右衛門が「逆櫓」の操縦術を見せる三段目の最後の場の題名。] Jidaimono. Bunraku and kabuki It was first performed at Takemoto za in Osaka in April, 1739. "Hirakana" means it made "Genpei seisuiki" easy to understand.
