附注 Playwright. First he was a priest named Dankei esui in Rinzai shu Joujuuji temple in Bingo Mihara (Hiroshima). He left the priesthood and became a playwright for Toyotakeza Theatre. He moved to Takemotoza Theatre in 1745 and wrote along with Takeda Izumo and Miyoshi Shoraku of the classic jōruri plays "Kanadehon chūshingura", "Yoshitsune senbon zakura", and "Sugawara denju tenarai kagami." In 1975 he changed his name back to Namiki Sousuke and moved back to Toyotakeza Theatre.
